We are women from Altsean-Burma Internship program. As part of our internship, we are launching a humour campaign in support of targeted economic sanctions on Burma. The humour campaign consists of a series of jokes in Burmese, which we would like to broadcast on the radio and through YouTube. The campaign also includes cartoons, which describe and depict human rights violations in Burma. Both jokes and cartoons show that the real cause of these violations is the Burmese government and its misguided policies and that the abuses are worsened by foreign investment. With our campaign we would like to reach Burmese civilians in Burma and abroad, Burmese pro- democracy activists, non- governmental organizations in and outside of Burma and the wider international community.


We are sending you our campaign press release and we would like to ask you to post it on your website. On Monday, we will also send you our jokes and cartoons, which are in a video format, and we would also like you to post it on your website so that we can reach the greatest number of people possible.
