Bond actor to donate boats to Burma

James Bond actor Daniel Craig will donate about $A14,250 to buy new boats for a group of fishermen in Burma's Irrawaddy delta that was ravaged by Cyclone Nargis in May, local media reports.

Craig will donate four seagoing vessels and 21 smaller boats to fishermen in Ah-lai-thaung village of Pyin-kha-yaing town, Flower News weekly reported.

'His representative came to Myanmar (Burma) and said he will pay for 25 fishing boats, and our committee brought the representative to that village," a member from the fishery rehabilitation committee told the publication.

It will cost about 15 million kyats (about $A14,250) for the fishing boats made locally, he said.
