ANTI-DICTATORSHIP PEOPLES’ FREEDOM MOVEMENT IN BURMA

1731 Redgate Farms Court, Rockville, MD 20850

Ban Ki-Moon said, “I share the frustration many feel with the situation in Myanmar…We have not seen the political progress I had hoped for”. Really??? Mr. Moon you have been giving the wrong pills to Burma’s terminal illness for too long. Still, you think sending Gambari to do your mission is on the right track. Come on, Mr. Moon. Your mission on Burma will never be success as long as you keep sending Gambari there. Everyone knows it.

In his brief, a confession of failure, Gambari eventually admits that his friends, the Burma generals, still fail to respond the UNSC expectations. On the contrary, we must be aware that Gambari has been supporting the regime’s delay and defeat technique during his six trips. If we recall right, during those days, many Buddhist monks have been tortured, illegally arrested or killed. More and more of the oppositions and activists have been arrested. The regime’s intimidations against the local people via Than Shwe’s party so called USDA members are mounting. And, finally, the regime’s infamous referendum was somehow succeeded. These are the visible facts that Gambari favored the regime to implement its task during his six-time visits.

Still, Gambari said that he wanted to go more to Burma. What is going to happen if he continues is - the NLD would be disbanded or disappeared, Daw Suu will be killed, more oppositions and activists would be tortured and arrested, the dissents of the public will be mute, the regime’s 2010 election will be successful and the regime will remain in power. How do we know that? Well, then, look back what had happened during his six trips.

In reality, the UN Secretary General and the UNSC have already known that their plan sending Gambari wouldn’t work. The reason that they keep on doing is because they want the free world and the freedom lovers of Burma to know that they are doing something OUT OF NOTHING. End of the days, they will confess the world that ending the crisis of Burma is almost impossible because of China and Russia, like the exit of Kofi Annan leaving the world with his empty promises. The rests of the member countries of the UNSC that have no personal interest or no enthusiasm whatsoever will agree on that by saying the sufferings of the people in Burma is just unfortunate. That is it folks.

In this view, we are a sort of a ‘lost nation’, groping in a dark tunnel for so many decades already. Today we are at the prospect of losing even that dim light at the end of the tunnel we are seeing at the moment and which is soon to be lost, at this rate and in these circumstances. Under the prevailing circumstances we are no better than ordinary animals leading daily normal lives and surviving – search for food and place for sleep, while having sex and nothing more. Dreams for brighter future, guarantee of life and liberty and opportunity to pursue happiness, the rights and the values entitled to all nations and citizenry of this world and which they are accordingly enjoying today, just do not exist in our vocabulary. Hence, the pride and prestige as a nation and all aspects of life of our country have gone down the drain since long ago. Today our morale as people of a country long existing with a history of nearly a millennium years has gone
down to the lowest levels.

Thus, a dilemma arises among us whether it is best for us to ‘move on’ with our lives like today and leave the ‘burden of freedom and democracy’ on the generations to come OR continue with our task at hand today and risk our lives joining with and giving helping hands to our Leader who has and is still sacrificing what is left of her life for the people of Burma like today.

As we have no qualms over the ultimate OUTCOME in OUR FAVOR also, of today’s battle for the freedom of our people since DAY ONE, we earnestly URGE the people of Burma to take up the fight NOW and while there is still LIFE in our beloved leader.
A point to note: Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has oft spoken out loud and clear that, "if you really want democracy, put your own effort into it. Don't wait for anybody. You are the master of your own soul!" We have to fight back the military regime now, make our own history and show the world we are capable of achieving the international standard of democracy at our own cost also.

Only our COURAGE, RESOLVE and UNITY will see us to VICTORY in this battle. Last and most importantly, TIME IS A FACTOR WE CAN ILL AFFORD at the moment, LEST YOU ALL FORGET!
